Enjoy the Many Offerings of Hilton Head Island Entertainment

One of the competing draws for Hilton Head real estate is the Island's flourishing arts scene and numerous venues for fine Hilton Head Island entertainment. The Arts Center of Coastal Carolina is a center for the visual and performing arts that puts on Broadway-style shows, musical concerts, children’s events, and more. Each year the theater puts on five spectacular plays or musicals in the 350 seat theater. The Arts Center is also home to the Walter Greer Gallery, which displays national and local artwork. Educational programs are offered for adults and youth featuring visual and performing arts workshops, lectures and fieldtrips. Founded in 1992, The South Carolina Repertory Company is a non-profit professional non-equity theater that produces shows every year that continually sell out thanks to the supportive community of Hilton Head.
There are several unique Hilton Head art galleries with moving exhibitions by local and national artists. With the beauty of the Island inspiring artists from all over the world, artwork depicting the Lowcountry is abundant. The Hilton Head Art League helps to promote and support local and nationally known artists with exhibitions and education. Sponsoring two annual art shows, the gallery is located at Pineland Station.
Over the bridge in Bluffton, Calhoun Street is home to a growing art colony. Throughout the year, local Hilton Head artists share their artwork during community festivals like the TGI 3rd Friday Block Party or the annual Bluffton Arts & Seafood Festival.
Daufuskie Island also has an active art community, with artists such as metal sculptor Chase Allen. Hilton Head real estate agent turned artist, Allen displays his island-inspired artwork in the Iron Fish Gallery and Art Studio. Silver Dew Pottery displays local pottery made from Daufuskie sand by artist Bob Burn. Local Daufuskie artists are scattered throughout Daufuskie Island, some tucked away on dirt roads and working in old historical homes.
Throughout the year, locals enjoy a variety of musical performances at different venues on the Island. The Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra has been performing jazz, pop, and classical music for over 25 years at various venues. Harbour Town, Shelter Cove Marina and South Beach Marina all provide excellent live Hilton Head Island entertainment by local musicians during the spring and summer, with special shows in the fall and winter months. Hilton Head also provides a summer concert series with groups like the Hallelujah singers and many other local musicians. The Hilton Head Choral Society has been singing for 32 years and was featured on A&E “Breakfast with the Arts, Live” and on NBC’s “The Today Show.”
The locals gather year round for festivals, celebrations, and other Hilton Head events. For over 12 years, the annual Hilton Head Gullah celebration has been helping to preserve the unique culture of the native islanders. With music, food, and arts and crafts, this unique festival brings locals and the Gullah Islanders together. A locally anticipated event is the Shelter Cove Marina Harbourfest.
Providing some of the best of Hilton Head Island entertainment and night life, patrons enjoy live music, food, arts and crafts, and a fireworks show six nights a week all summer long.
